Los Angeles, CA — Curbswap is now available on Android. The app is live on Google Play, alongside the iPhone app on the App Store. Whichever phone you carry, you can now check street-sweeping rules for your block, set an alarm so you never miss one, and get in line for hands-off Curbswaps, where a vetted driver moves your car for you.

What you get for free, with no account

Open the app and you are checking parking rules within seconds. There is nothing to sign up for.

  • Sweep rules for any block. Search an address or use your location and see the posted street-sweeping day and hours, down to your side of the street, with a count of the days until the next sweep. The app also reminds you to check for temporary no-parking signs, which are separate from the regular sweeping schedule.
  • Up to 5 sweep alarms. Set an alarm the night before, an hour before, 30 minutes before, or at a time you choose. Guest alarms are saved on your phone and ring once.
  • A loud alarm option. Turn on Loud alarm and the reminder arrives as a max-priority notification on an alarm sound channel, built to get your attention when your phone would otherwise stay quiet. On Android this is a notification, not a full-screen alarm.

A free account adds your car and more alarms

When you are ready, create a free account. It unlocks:

  • A saved car, so the app can show its next sweep at a glance
  • Unlimited alarms, instead of the five guest alarms
  • Repeating alarms that go off every sweep day, so you set them once

Hands-off Curbswaps, opening neighborhood by neighborhood

An alarm still means somebody has to go outside and move the car. A Curbswap takes that off your plate: you book before the sweep, a vetted Curbswap driver moves your car to a legal spot nearby, and you get before and after photos plus the exact new location in the app. Curbswaps are included in a monthly plan, so there is no per-move fee.

We are opening Curbswaps one neighborhood at a time so every block gets a great experience, which is why the app starts with the waitlist. Join it from the app and we will let you know when service reaches your area.

SwapBox: the key box your driver opens from their phone

A driver needs your key, and you should not have to hand it over or meet anyone at 6 a.m. The SwapBox is a smart key box that attaches to your car. When it is time for your Curbswap, your driver unlocks it from their phone, moves the car, and puts the key back. You never share a code, and every move is documented with photos and GPS.

SwapBox is a one-time $45 early-access price, and you do not need a subscription to buy one. You can order it from the Android app.
